NetSuite Experts, looking for some help with the time entry.

When a user with Employee center role creates a time entry and saves , the approval status changes to Open instead of Pending Approval. Next time when a user tries to edit the same entry and submits it , the approval status changes to Approved which is totally unacceptable. Trying to figure out how to stop this from happening. Also would like to know what submit and save button on time entry form does.

When a user saves, the status changes to "Open." When a user submits, the status is supposed to become "Pending Approval ."

If the time entry is being approved automatically, there could be a few reasons for this:

1) Check if the time entry was made on a project that is configured for "Auto Approve." In this case, time entries on that project will be automatically approved.

2) Another possibility is that the user is defined as a Project Manager on the project. If this is the case, by default, any time submitted on this project by this user will be automatically approved. To prevent this, you need to modify the "Project Manager Role" and uncheck the "Own Time Approval" option.
